Stained Glass Course

Do you find workshops too limited or not challenging enough anymore? Would you like to start your own stained glass project? Creation or restauration? Come and work at your own pace on your personal stained glass creation.

Throughout the course, you’ll be professionally guided by Charlotte from Atelier Forrier to bring your stained glass project perfectly to life from A to Z.

How does the course work?

Reserve your preferred evening in the booking calendar. The course takes place every Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Please respect the start and end times.

Some practical details:
• Location: Atelier Forrier, Anderlecht (Pasteurstraat 42).
• There’s room for 6 participants per evening.
• You can use all workshop tools during the course, except for the lead and glass. No prior experience is required.
• We recommend coming by public transport; Brussels South Station is just an 8-minute walk from the workshop. Parking is available behind the blue gate, but access is often blocked by neighbours. (If cars are blocking the gate, please honk or call Charlotte at 0478 40 94 31.)
• Your project and materials can be stored at the workshop until you finish and take them home. Storage is limited to one month maximum. After that period, unfinished work will be discarded or become the property of Atelier Forrier. The studio is not responsible for theft or damage to stained glass projects.
• You can order a glass package at a discounted rate, which includes 30×30 cm pieces in a variety of coloured and transparent glass. More info in the FAQ.
• Price: €15 per hour, bookable per evening (3.5 hours).
• Course duration: until your personal project is completed.
• Important: This course is prohibited for pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding or who wish to become pregnant in the near future, due to possible exposure to lead.

Included:
• Use of all tools and glassworking equipment available in the studio:
○ Glass cutter with cutting oil
○ Glass breaking and grozing pliers
○ Circle glass cutter for inner and outer circles
○ Cutting rulers and hooks
○ Grinder (Kristal type)
○ Soldering irons and flux
○ Cutting and work tables
• Glass from the scrap boxes
• Tin solder
• UV glue for glass bonding
• Various cleaning products
• One drink of your choice from the bar (water available all evening)

Not included:
Lead and glass. You may purchase and bring your own, or buy them directly at the studio.

A glass package contains 14 or 28 glass sheets of 30×30 cm.
A set of 28 sheets costs €323.05 (VAT included) and includes the following colours:
• 4 × textured transparent
• 4 × amber
• 2 × yellow
• 2 × orange
• 4 × green
• 4 × blue
• 3 × red
• 3 × purple
• 2 × pink
• 1 × white
• 1 × black

• Glass cutting and grinding, with various machines and hand tools available.
• Glass collages using UV glue techniques.
• Free work and experimentation with all tools and equipment available in the studio.

• Any hot glass techniques requiring heating devices or kilns, such as slumping, hotpot, pâte-de-verre, glassblowing, glass melting, etc.
• Glass painting with contour, grisaille or other types of paints that need to be fired in a glass kiln.
