Bewitched by glass
It started with a small idea and a lot of curiosity when I walked into Syntra West Bruges in 2008 and my eye fell on the following training course:
“Glassblower of decorative and functional objects”, the title really appealed to me.
I encountered a new material there. A captivating substance that you can't easily bend to your will... unless with lots of patience and fascination. Keeping Lord Norbert Demonie's memorable phrase in mind: “Keep turning”! or “Bluuvn Droajn” in beautiful West Flemish!
And so I did…

Try again and keep going.
I felt it immediately, I never want to unlearn this, a new passion entered my life: Glass and its versatility!
Love for glass
The burner became my friend, melting and shaping my inspiration!
In Temse, in 2013, I learned the intricacies of stained glass under the tutelage of Isabelle Dethoor. Inspired by the colour palette of glass, I discovered a new verb: “glasramen“ (to make stained glass). I found myself in the realm of figurative imagination: drawing, cutting, breaking, painting, soldering, leading… A new technical world opened up to me. My love for glass inspired dreams and my first exhibition became a reality. On the quayside in Temse, with a view of the River Scheldt.
My curiosity led me further. After my tour in South America in 2014, I ended up in the beautiful Bruges in 2015. And then – under the wing of Pia Burrick – I knew it… I wanted to do something with this! I entered the field of the artisan stained-glass maker.
Glass gave me a new direction and became my passion. Let yourself be swept away by my passion. Because glass isn't old-fashioned or boring, it's actually challenging, hip, and timeless.
